1 Peter 2:16
16 For you are free, yet you are God's slaves, so don't use your freedom as an excuse to do evil.

Live like free people, but don't use your freedom as an excuse to do evil. Live as those who are serving God.

When the laws of man conflict with the word and law of God, we are to obey the latter, whatever the consequences may be. The law of our land requiring us to deliver a slave to his master, we are not to obey; and we must abide the consequences of violating this law. The slave is not the property of any man. Romans 6:1-2
